Be stronger than your strongest excuse

Writers Be Strong

Naysayers Be Damned

Writing is difficult. Getting past the fear of that blank page is a Herculean feat. But silencing our inner naysaying editor is by far the hardest task to master.

Most writers listen to that editorial voice. Believe their writing is worthless.

They use that disheartening voice of doubt as an excuse NOT to write. Not to try. They stare at the first blank page for hours, typing nothing. Procrastinating by watching TV, scrolling through social media, surfing the web.

To those writers, I say

Be stronger than your strongest excuse. Write!

When you think you can’t write, remember the movies you like to watch, the TV shows, the books and stories you enjoy reading. Those stories that appeal to you have a structure that your subconscious follows while you watch or read the story for entertainment.Self doubting your writing ability

Your subconscious can write. You can write the same kind of stories you enjoy.

You just have to stop listening to your inner editor when it tells you you can’t.

You can write.

Just start writing. Don’t fear those first few sentences. Those paragraphs. Those pages. They can all be edited later.

So write.

Write for an hour. For two hours. For four.

Write that story you want to tell. Get It started.

When your done for the day, walk away.

Re-read what you wrote another day.

Just keep writing. It’s fun once you start!

Be strong.

Be who you are – a writer who WRITES!
