My Photo Shoot

Today I prepped for and attended a photo shoot. The subject – Me.

I need professional photos for my screenwriting website and for press releases for future events that may involve the Fall release of my horror anthology Midnight Hearse.Award-winning screenwriter Kay patterson

At 8am I had my hair and makeup done at Pamela Corroto’s Beauty Parlor. A young girl donned my makeup. I felt like a movie star getting primped for the spotlight. Another lady colored, cut, and fluffed up my hair. I wanted a easy hairstyle. Something I could duplicate at home.

Looking fabulous, I took 2 extra outfits to Generation, a local shop that offers photography sessions.

At 11am, Leeann, the photographer, and co-owner of Generation, was very welcoming and professional She took charge of directing me where to stand, where sit, how to pose, where to look, when to smile, and when look serious.

She took standard head shots in studio, some mid and full body shots; then we moved outdoor to do some shots around our quaint suburban town of Beaver.

I felt like a local celebrity.

Screenwriter Kay pattersonIt was a great experience. I started out nervous, but under Leeann’s guidance I left feeling relaxed and confident we had captured all the photos I needed for my meda portfolio.

My $125.00  photo session proved to money well spent. I ended up with over 60 pictures of me in 3 different outfits, in various poses and locations. Perfect for what I needed.

Aside from building a media portfolio, I was taking my love of screenwriting to the next level, moving it from hobby to career.
