Page Turner Screenplays screenwriting contest 2019

Page Turner Screenplays 2nd Call

Received my 2nd phone call from Joseph Tomasello, the director of Pager Turner Screenplays, regarding my thriller screenplay, Lineage, an entry in their Feature Screenwriting Contest.

We jumped right into a discussion about the notes he sent about my screenplay. He said  the script formatting was solid. The typos and homonyms he found were minimal. They were all pointed out in his notes.

He grilled me on the backstory behind Lineage, was impressed with the research I did before I wrote the script –  saying Hollywood execs and developers will ask about it. They will want to be assured that I knew my story inside and out so they can feel confident they won’t have to hire other writers to flesh such details out.

We talked about my prequel and sequel concepts. Joseph suggest that I have polished treatments for each. And suggested that I market Lineage as a package: Main feature, sequel and prequel.

He was also impressed with my prior contest ranking.  Lineage was a finalist in the 2018 Screencraft Fellowship, it received 2 good reviews in the 2018 Nichols Fellowship and in 2018 Austin Film Festival Contest. He stressed the importance of Austin. Said being a 2nd Rounder in the Austin Film Festival is a big deal, and admonished me for not attending.

So my second phone call from Page Turner Screenplays was SUPER!

My fingers are crossed – Winners will be announced 3/26/19.

Wish me luck.
