two of kathy patterson's short scripts make quarter finals in outstanding screenplay's contest

2 Scripts 1 Contest

Two short scripts, one outstanding contest.

So pleased to announce that my horror short, The Allure of Blackfish, and my fantasy short, The Cora Factor, both placed as quarter finalists in the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Contest!

Last year, The Allure of Blackfish placed in numerous contests. It’s a delicious blend of supernatural horror and ice fishing. A story that was generated during a Mash-Up challenge on Facebook that required writers to blend the horror genre with a sport. It’s a 9 page short script. long.

Logline: Two contestants participate in a supernatural ice fishing contest officiated and judged by DEATH.

Aside from that, this is the first year I have submitted The Cora Factor. So I’m thrilled to see it making headway during this first round of contests.

Logline: Owners of a bed and breakfast attempt to shield their guests from their daughter’s unusual ability to control people – afraid her playful desire to entertain may get out of hand.

The Cora Factor was written during the Summer 2022 season of the Pittsburgh 48-Hour Film Project. And, although it didn’t get selected to be made of the 48-Hour Film Project, it did get a table read by seasoned Pittsburgh actors at the Carnegie Screenwriters Halloween gathering. It’s a 6 page short script.
