happy Easter Everyone 2022

Easter Inspiration

Happy Easter!

Even after visiting family and friends, while Easter dinner settles in your belly, take some time to work on your current Work-in-Progress. What? Really?

Yes, really. You can. You should, especially if you take your writing seriously and want to excel at it.

Not matter where you are there’s sure to be paper about. Even paper napkins work (after dinner of course, while you’re waiting to savor dessert.)

You can brainstorm characters, character arcs, plotlines, scenes, lines of dialogue, and story structure.
Jot notes about each item you’ve brainstormed or story ideas you want to develop. Sketch out the next scene you need to write.

I always carry a small notebook and pen in my purse for just these quiet little moments, especially right after eating a big holiday meal.

Before bed, read a few pages of your script or manuscript, marking edits. Or, read a script of a movie you’ve seen in the same genre you write.

Another great idea you can do on the fly, during those family moment lulls, is to create a new list of Writing To-Dos that you can address when you get home or when your relatives leave.

Create plot point scene cards on colored index cards.

With family about, you can practice pitching your latest project. See how each person reacts. You can have someone time you. Remember to practice pitching your logline too.

You can also suggest watching a movie, choosing one that fits within the genre you’re writing.

As you can see, there are great ways to still working on your writing while celebrating Easter or any other holiday.

We’re creatives after all.  So create some of your own idea!

Again, Happy Easter. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
