Chilled cranberries in a Moscow mule is my go-to yuletide cocktail.
Served in a chilled copper mug with a sprig of fresh rosemary or mint, and mixed with vodka – not spiced rum – it’s a delightful, tasty wind-down drink to enjoy at the end of a day after running errands or shopping.
It’s my favorite indulgence during the Christmas holiday season. I even bought my own pair of chillable, copper mugs!
Never had a Cranberry Moscow Mule?
Well, if you’re over 21, and not driving, order yourself one. They’re typically between $6-$7 bucks, not including tip. It’s not as sweet or as fruity as a sangria.
But if you’re like me, you might want to make a cup or two at home.
Here’s the recipe:
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz vodka ( I use Smirnoff no. 21)
1/4 cup lime juice
3 oz ginger beer
ice & a handful of frozen cranberries
slice of lime with a sprig of rosemary or fresh mint for garnish
add the liquid above to a mug of ice
stir lightly & add garnishes
Totally delish! Very refreshing.
Tis the season for a ho-ho-home drink as you wrap all those presents!
