Make a list iconic elements of that season. Physical elements: snow, wind, torrential rain, scorching sun, bone-chilling temperatures. Sound: bird song, the crunch of crusted snow, splash of puddles, Colors. Seasonal events. Clothing. Activities.<\/p>\n<p>You get what I mean.<\/p>\n<p>Google images of a season you feel might fit your current writing endeavor. How can it enhance the conflict within one of your scenes?<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes its the little nuances of a certain locale or prop that helps bring a scene to life for readers and viewers. The withering cornfield in <em>Jeepers Creepers. <\/em>The festivities of Halloween night in <em>Hocus Pocus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The deadly elements of Winter add to the terror and danger in <em>Wind River<\/em>, T<em>he Grey<\/em> and the indie thriller <em>Frozen<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Who can forget the wealth of ideas found in Summer!<\/p>\n<p>Summer is exploited to the delight of audiences in movies, such as, <em>Jaws<\/em>, <em>Spring Break<\/em>, <em>The Long Hot Summer<\/em> (<a href=\"http:\/\/scriptchic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FieldJan19C.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-561\" src=\"http:\/\/scriptchic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FieldJan19C.png\" alt=\"using the season of summer and summer fun in movies\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scriptchic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FieldJan19C.png 300w, https:\/\/scriptchic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FieldJan19C-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/scriptchic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FieldJan19C-50x50.png 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>especially the remake with Don Johnson), and <em>Twister.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Look for seasonal usages in the next movie you watch. How many ways was seasonal elements used to add physical angst for the characters? How many iconic images were on screen? How did the seasonal clothing affect the characters? Heavy clothing hampers the wearer. Skimpy summer clothing inhibits some people, and entices others to flaunt their physique.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a simply exercise. It works. It&#8217;ll get ideas flowing!<\/p>\n<p>Try it next time your stuck writing a scene.
