A lot of writers know me as Alien Queen Mum<\/em>. Others refer to me as The Movie Maven. But I’m just Kathy Patterson, fiction and preWGA screenwriter. I’m not repped yet, but have a lot of industry professionals reading my work.<\/p>\n I’m a Stowe Labs Fellow. PAGE and Script2Comic Finalist. My stories blend reality with elements of science fiction, fantasy, horror and suspense.<\/p>\n I was the creator and senior editor of\u00a0AlienSkin Magazine<\/strong>, a popular online Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror publication. A paying market for writers.<\/p>\n As a publisher, I shared thousands of creepy, fascinating, and interesting stories with readers. I received hundreds of story submissions each month. Writers from all over the world sent me stories. I read every one. Wrote replies to every writer. Offered advice to many. I made the primary dream of writers a reality.<\/p>\n I helped writers get published, and continue to help them.<\/p>\n When AlienSkin Magazine ceased publication in 2010, I focused on my own writing. Through that, I learned about screenwriting. Friends and fellow writers felt many of my stories would make great movies – especially my horror and suspense thrillers.<\/p>\n So I studied the art of screenwriting, and became a screenwriter. I love what I do.<\/p>\n I watch movies and TV dramas. Study them and their scripts. And now I write movies and TV pilots of my own. I still write fiction, primarily flash and short stores.<\/p>\n As a fiction and screenwriter, I write in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, horror and thrillers.
